Which of the 2 galaxies are the biggest and how big are they? The Andromeda galaxy is much larger. It's 3 times larger than the Milky Way galaxy. The Andromeda galaxy is about 2,000,000 light years across, and the Milky Way galaxy is 80,000-120,000 light years across. The one measurement in size that they have in common is they are each about 7,000 light years thick. |

How many stars make up the Milky Way galaxy. Which stars are the biggest and the smallest? An astonishing 200,000,000,000 stars make up the Milky Way galaxy. The biggest star in the Milky Way galaxy is VY Canis Majoris which is 9,501,200 times the size of the sun. The smallest star is only 0.075 times smaller than the sun and it is called OGLE-TR-122B. |
|
Who named the Milky Way and the Andromeda galaxy? The Andromeda galaxy was named after the the Andromeda constellation. Astromer Ptolmy named that constellation. The Milky Way galaxy was named by an unknown person for looking like a milky band in the sky. |

How many stars make up the Andromeda galaxy. Which stars are the biggest and smallest? The number of starts in the Andromeda galaxy is 5 times greater than the number of stars in the Milky Way galxay. There are 1,000,000,000,000 stars in Andromeda galaxy. I spent over 45 minutes trying to figure out the names of the biggest and smallest stars, but I could not find anything out about them. |
Are there any planets in the Milky Way galaxy that could support life? The planet HD 189733b may support life, and it is almost exactly like Jupiter. Earth is in the Milky Way galaxy and it supports life. |
Summary |
|
As you can see, the Andromeda galaxy is different and like the MilkyWay galaxy in some ways. They're similiar in a few ways. For example, they're both sprial galaxies and both about 7,000 light years thick. They're different in about every thing I stated and more. I hope you liked my presentation. | |
